Welcome to Portsmouth Golf Club
Portsmouth Golf Club was formed in 1926 and since 1972 has played over the Downland course off Crookhorn Lane overlooking Portsmouth, the Solent and the Isle of Wight. Some of the best views in Hampshire golf can be seen from our second and twelfth holes.
We have an extensive competition calendar and play social golf as well as trophy competitions at our home course as well as against other clubs. Players of all categories and standards are welcome to join Portsmouth Golf Club.
The club is a private members club that is independent but has guaranteed playing rights on the course.

Open dates announced for 2009
Portsmouth GC has a 4 day open event every year at the beginning of August. There are events for Juniors, Ladies, Men, Veterans & Mixed Pairs with a presentation on the final day by our president The Lord Mayor of Portsmouth. Please call for details.
In the Pro Shop
Golf Lessons
Our PGA qualified professional James Green, offers lessons to golfers from beginners to low handicappers in a range that includes half hour individual lessons and 6 hole on course lessons as well as group sessions.
Glendale Golf
Glendale Golf manages the Course, the Pro-shop and the Fairways Inn.
They offer a very flexible system of Season Tickets and Green Fees and The Fairways Inn is open for Functions.
