Portsmouth Open
The Portsmouth Open is the most prestigious golf event in the year for Portsmouth Golf Club having been held for over 70 years. The club itself has been in existence since 1926.
Seven separate events are held over 11 days and each year visiting golfers from local clubs and from outside of Hampshire, travel a considerable distance to take part.
Many return year after year.
As the resident club on the City of Portsmouth’s premier course Portsmouth Golf Club are proud to host an event which does a great deal to publicise the course and the City of Portsmouth. We are proud of the course and of its association with the City of Portsmouth.
We thank to Glendale Golf who not only give their support for this competition but who have made great efforts to maintain the course to a high standard.
The open trophies have been with the club for many years and the winners have had to play at their best against strong opposition in order to win.

18 hole Stableford Competition for the Dick Jones Memorial Trophy. Open to men 60 years and over on 1st January 2012.
PGC Junior Open

18 Hole Medal Competition for the Bill Butler Trophy. Open to Juniors under the age of 18 on 1st January 2012.
PGC Mens Open Friday Morning Competition - Sir John Rowland Cup

18 hole Medal Competition for the Sir John Rowland Cup. Competitors who enter both the Sir John Rowland Cup and the Sir William Dupree Cup will automatically be entered in the 36 hole Portsmouth Aggregate Cup (nett event).
